YMCA Group Lesson Policies
Registration and Participants
When a class has fewer than four registered participants, the class will be cancelled.
To allow for instructor rescheduling, registration for a class ends two days before class begins. Approval from the program coordinator is required for late registration.
Please bring your own goggles, as we will not be providing them.
Pool deck and other viewing area layouts have been changed or modified to ensure that individuals can remain at least six feet apart from those they do not live with.
Makeup Lessons
Makeup lessons will be scheduled if a lesson is cancelled due to inclement weather, pool closing or other unforeseen circumstances. The YMCA will make every effort to contact you as soon as possible if a lesson is cancelled.
Please verify your contact information is up-to-date at the Welcome Center.
Your swim instructor will give you the exact date and time of the makeup lesson. We are not able to offer makeup lessons for individual absences.
Photography and Media
The YMCA may photograph both you and your child, and the YMCA may use those photographs for its marketing purposes. If you would prefer to not be included, please inform the program coordinator. Please make every effort to exclude other members and guests when taking personal photographs or videos.
Lesson Levels and Other Questions
Participants may be moved to different levels based upon their swimming performance before the conclusion of a class session. Scheduling and class questions or concerns should be directed to the program coordinator. Class cancellations, transfers and refunds are at the discretion of the program coordinator and must be requested via email or phone.
Accompanying Your Child
Participants under age 12 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian and must provide a current membership card or valid photo ID on each visit.
Children in Stages A/B must be accompanied by an adult in the water.
Non-Member Questions
Only members are permitted to play in the pool before swim lessons start or after swim lessons have ended. To learn about becoming a member, please visit or call your local YMCA's welcome center. Thank you!
