Peace Like a Lap Lane
Terri likes to swim 90 laps every day.
“It’s like my mind kind of empties out, and I just feel the movement of the water.”
She says it brings peace like doing meditation.
“I was on the swim team at UCLA. I had periods throughout the years where I couldn’t get to a pool, but I’ve always swum. I love it.”
Her passion passed down to the next generation.
“My kids were swimming by the time they were three and four. They went onto swim teams and then became lifeguards. They were lifeguards for the Y.”
Terri also grew up going to the Y and used to teach water aerobics. She enjoys staying active, but had a recent setback when she broke her hip. Since then, Terri’s been easing her way back into exercise.
“By summer, I hope to be doing the 90 again,” she said.
