Havin' a Good Time
We found Honey Clark, 86, on the treadmill, wearing big silver earrings and a smile. She agreed to answer some questions about her Y habits, and her deep southern accent was music to our ears.
How long have you been a member?
Honey: About four years I think.
What’s your favorite equipment to use?
Honey: This and the bicycle. The bicycle was full over there, so…I’ll take this.
What is success for you?
Honey: At least 10 minutes on this and 10 minutes on the bicycle
What are some things you are proud of accomplishing?
Honey: I wouldn’t miss a day coming in here. I like everybody and the good exercise. Like right now, I’m out of breath!
It seems like the community here is special.
Honey: Oh, it is! That’s what I love. Everybody knows most everybody. Even if you don’t know them by name, you know them by face. Lots of times we go out at night and meet each other and just have a good time.
