Miracle on the Other Side of the Mountain
Heather, a breast and uterine cancer survivor, recommends hiking a mountain.
Heather: Right before you peak, you want to quit because the air is really thin. It’s really steep. There are a lot of loose rocks. Well, it’s kind of like going through a tough time—like cancer—and everyone has something they’re going through. Everyone. If you don’t give up, there’s a miracle on the other side of that. I really believe.
After six surgeries over the last two years, Heather’s reached the miracle side.
Heather: Now I’m reassessing what to do with the rest of my life.
A few things are certain. Heather plans to write a book and to keep up with her exercise routine. She credits Y personal trainer, Mark, for helping her become stronger and healthier again.
Heather: Everyone should be doing cardio. I love doing the elliptical. That’s my absolute favorite machine.
She also loves encouraging others.
Heather: I just want to inspire other people not to give up, not to quit.
Heather’s one of those warm, approachable people that draws others in.
Heather: I’ve met so many cool people here. People have confided in me...Every story you can imagine is within these walls. It’s so rich.
