Enjoying Each and Every Moment
Andrea and her husband have three young children and serve as missionaries. She says the Y offers her a place to come rejuvenate.
“Just staying in shape—not only physically, but body, spirit, everything. It’s my time. I have a Bible app on my phone, so I usually read the Bible and listen to worship music just to kind of unwind and de-stress.”
Andrea grew up going the Y, and this year, her 6-year-old played on the Y’s soccer team with her husband as the coach.
“It’s fun, and she had a great time. You know at that age, they’re just kind of running around trying to figure out some organization and learning all the different positions.”
Now that her three-year-old is talking more, she can also tell her mom what she likes best about Y-Play.
“She loves coming and interacting with other kids, getting to go outside, playing—just something different from her normal routine.”
As for the baby, he’s too little to speak for himself yet! But Andrea says it’s great to have a trusted place to bring her kids and get a little break.
“I know my children are well taken care of and are going to have fun in a safe environment with workers who really love to invest in children.”
We asked Andrea if she had any encouragement for other young moms.
“Enjoy each moment, every moment. Take it a day at a time, step by step, and take time for yourself. Because when you’re healthy, your kids will be as well.”
