A Family Affair
Meet Aimee. She’s been coming to the Y for…
Aimee: Oh geez, eons. I mean, since my kids were babies. That’s how it started.
Her daughter, Ella, is now 8, and son, Austin, is 5.
Aimee: I needed a break from the infant stage, and I said, 'I’m just going to go work out so someone can watch my kids,' and then I realized, 'Hey, I’m liking working out, and they are liking coming.'
Who likes it more?
Aimee: They motivate me to come, and sometimes I motivate them to come. So it works out.
Ah, so it’s a tie. Do you go to any specific classes?
Aimee: I do my own thing. I used to do classes, but now I have my own routine in the wellness center.
What do you think this Y means to the neighborhood?
Aimee: It’s kind of like a one-stop shop. They have the wellness center, they have classes, they have the pool. We have a pool in our neighborhood, but we prefer to come here in summer and winter. I think it’s great for the community because it can outreach to so many different kinds of families—a wide range. I think this is great.
YOU are great, Aimee! Happy to have your crew in the Y family.
