When you work for the Y, you earn more than just a paycheck. You gain the opportunity to make positive and enduring impact in your own community.
Helping Communities Thrive
At the Y, everything we do—from improving our community's health and well-being to nurturing kids' potential to giving volunteers opportunities to help neighbors in need—brings our cause of strengthening community to life. It’s felt each time a neighbor makes a healthy choice, when a caring adult mentors a child and when a community comes together for the common good. Every day, we work side-by-side with our neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

Investing in Your Well-being
When you feel well, you do well—both professionally and personally. We offer full-time staff a comprehensive benefits plan including healthcare, dental, vision, long and short term disability and retirement. All employees are eligible to open and contribute toward a 403(b) retirement account at any time after hire. After two years, you will be eligible to participate in the Y Retirement Plan, where current participants currently receive a contribution from the Y equal to 10% of their salary.
All employees working a minimum of ten hours per week receive membership at all of our 15 centers and full-time staff receive household membership. We also offer employees discounts on youth programs, summer camps and sports instruction. We’re building healthy families and believe that this starts with our employees!
Build Your YMCA Career
We encourage all employees to take advantage of available training and networking opportunities. We recognize that our most valuable asset is our dedicated employees and we aim to nurture and develop every individual along his/her career path. To support and encourage all employees, the YMCA of Middle Tennessee offers training and resources that leaders need to further personal development. We also offer participation and involvement in our Employee Resource Groups. These employee-led groups provide a space for people to network, mentor one another, share their knowledge and experiences, participate in personal and professional development, enhance leadership skills, inform strategic decisions and provide consultation when needed - all while building meaningful connections across the movement.
