On April 28, Gov. Lee announced guidance for gyms and exercise facilities on how to safely reopen on or after May 1. Based on this guidance, we are reopening on Monday, May 4 with limited service at the following locations:
Service at these locations will primarily be limited to the main wellness area per the state’s initial guidelines. We will also introduce several new safety protocols in the interest of protecting the health of both our members and staff.
Davidson County YMCAs remain closed
As you may know, the state’s guidance does not apply to Davidson County, which has its own plans for a four-phase reopening. All YMCA locations in Davidson County will remain closed until we reach phase 3 of this plan. We will share our reopening plans for these locations with members as new information becomes available.
If your local Y is in Davidson County, you may visit any open Y in another county, regardless of your residence or “home branch.” Those with a center-only membership will also be permitted to use other facilities during this time.
If you choose to visit the Y
As a reminder, we did not charge May membership dues. This hold on your draft automatically took effect. If your local Y remains closed, or you do not yet feel comfortable visiting us, your membership will stay on hold in May and you will not be charged anything.
For those who do choose to visit an open facility, you will be charged 50% of your monthly dues within 48 hours of your first visit. You should be reminded of this pending charge at the time of your first visit.
Once again, we will have more details to share with you in the coming days. For now, please know that we remain committed to helping you stay safe and healthy during this reopening phase. We look forward to welcoming you back to the Y.
