Y-Play
More than just a safe place to look after your children while you work out, the YMCA's Y-Play service offers children ages 6 weeks to 6 years the chance to get the most out of their own visit to the Y through playing, learning and staying physically active. Y-Play activities are grouped around the following "stations":
Creation Station: Arts and craft activities to let your child explore their creative side.
Discovery Station: Blast off for a fun time of science learning and exploration.
Imagination Station: Children follow their music through dressing up, dramatic play and other fun activities.
Language Station: For reading, puzzles and quiet time.
Additional information
Y-Play is generally offered as a free service for members with dependents ages 6 weeks to 6 years. Some centers may have different age requirements--check with your center for their specific policies.
Children may stay at Y-Play for up to two hours per day and a maximum of nine hours per week.
Parents/guardians are the only adults authorized to leave a child with Y-Play, and are required to remain on-site at the Y during their child's visit. Only the parent or guardian who signs a child into Y-Play may sign them out/pick them up.

Hang Time at the Y
Children age seven and older are invited to join Hang Time at the YMCA. Available during after-school hours, Hang Time provides supervised, structured games and activities ranging from homework help to games such as dodge ball, basketball, arts and crafts and board games. Times and age requirements for Hang Time at the Y vary at some centers.

Preschool
Preschools are available through the Brentwood, Margaret Maddox and Northwest Family YMCAs. YMCA preschools are licensed by the state of Tennessee and facilitate hands-on, age-appropriate learning experiences designed to capture and build on a child’s imagination and interest. The curriculum actively engages a child’s reasoning, creative thinking and social skills in a way that instills them with happiness and self-confidence. YMCA preschool programs are offered year-round and run Monday through Friday except for regular school holidays and occasional in-service days.
Fun Company
The YMCA Fun Company Learning through Discovery experience will allow youth to build their own interests through hands-on, activity and project-based learning experiences designed to promote group dynamics and nurture innate curiosity. Visit ymcafunco.org for more information.
