Seniors Group Training
Both on land and in the water, seniors may benefit from the Rutherford County Family YMCA's group exercise classes.
SilverSplass: offers lots of fun shallow water movements to improve agility, flexibility, and cardiovascular endurance. No swimming ability is required, and a kickboard is used to develop strength, balance, and coordination. Classes are held every Monday at 8am.
Basic H20 Cardio: A basic version of the H2O cardiovascular class that is shorter with lower intensity. Classes are held every Wednesday at 8am.
Aquatics Arthritis: A movement, strength, and flexibility class designed for those recovering from an injury or with arthritis. Taught in a warm water environment. Classes are held every Friday at 8am.
Tai Chi: A fluid movement class designed to challenge all fitness levels. Classes are held on W-F 10:30am
SilverSneakers® I - Muscular Strength & Range of Movement: Have fun and move to the music through a variety of exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activity for daily living skills. Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a ball are offered for resistance; and a chair is used for seated and/or standing support. Classes are held on T-Th 7:15am and 11:00am
SilverSneakers® II – Cardio Circuit: Combine fun with fitness to increase your cardiovascular and muscular endurance power with a standing circuit workout. Upper body strength work with hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles and a ball is alternated with non-impact aerobic choreography. A chair is offered for support, stretching and relaxation exercises.
Senior Socials
Join us the first Thursday of every month from 12:15–1:15pm for some food and laughs. Get to know all of our seniors.B*I*N*G*O
And Bingo is the game oh! Bingo is held every other Friday from 10:30am–11:45pm. Coffee, cake and F-U-N provided. Held on the following dates: November 14, December 5, and December 19.
