Wellness
The YMCA movement and its commitment to health and wellness is so strong, it even created the sports of basketball and volleyball, as well as YMCA methods for swim instruction that have become the standard in teaching people how to swim. However, fitness is just one part of a larger whole, not a separate activity of the YMCA's other programs and services. The YMCA has never focused on the body alone, because for over a century the Y has recognized that a person achieves total health when his/her spirit, mind and body are balanced.
Equipment Orientations
Based upon your individual goals, a certified trainer will demonstrate to you different cardiovascular and strength training machines showing proper form, body alignment, pace and suggested repetitions. Our hope is that this will provide the member more personal attention during their first 3 months at the Y. A routine will be given based on the member's fitness goals, experience, and physical limitations. Records will be kept on every member containing each appointment and the information given.
Personal Training
Personal training can make a difference in the success of your program. Our trainers can work with you regularly or on a consulting basis to help design a workout that is uniquely yours. Trainers encourage you to exercise and reach your goals. Trainers are YMCA, CPR, and ACE, NASM, Cooper Institute, NSCA or ACSM certified. Trainers must be employed by the YMCA. Members may not provide their own trainers.

Fresh Start
8 weeks group personal training for exercise beginners. Don't do it alone! Come and be a part of a 4-6 person group of exercisers with the similar goals as you. Workout with others who are on the same fitness level as you and will help push you to the next level in reaching your goals! Being part of this a group will not only help motivate you but it will keep you accountable! You will be working with ACSM Certified Personal Trainer Roseanne. She will give you all of the tools necessary for you to reach your personal goals! This includes weekly 2 complete fitness assessments at the beginning and end of your program, weekly weigh-ins, keeping a food diary and nutrtional information. Transformer Training Group
Are you ready to transform your body??? If so, this is the training group for you! This 8 week group personal training program is designed for intermediate exercisers are in need of a serious shake up in their exercise routein due to boredom or the dreaded plateau. DeAnna Lax is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer who will lead your group through 8 weeks of serious training to help you bust through that plateau and spice up your current exercise routein! Fitness Evaluation
Sign up for a FREE fitness evaluation at the fitness desk. Members are encouraged to test periodically to track their fitness through measuring body fat composition, recovery heart rate, muscular strength, and flexibility.
Youth Certifications
Certified wellness staff will instruct youth in proper use of exercise equipment to meet the needs of each child. Youth ages 10-13 will need to participate in four classes with the staff in order to complete the training and use the wellness center. Youth Strength Straining is $35 for Facility Members and $50 for Program Members
