Corporate America On the Move Week is aimed at motivating employees to take small steps towards a healthier lifestyle. As part of that initiative, YMCA of Middle Tennessee centers are deepening their commitment to community-wide efforts to promote healthy living and intensify collaboration with community partners to support employees seeking healthier lifestyles.

Meet the President
John Mark "Journey" Johnson is President and CEO of the YMCA of Middle Tennessee. Journey is married to Sharon and has four children: Jeni, Bobby, Katie and Jack. Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Journey now resides in Brentwood. He earned his bachelor's degree and his master's in education from Lynchburg College in Lynchburg, Virginia. He later earned an M.B.A. from the University of Richmond.
Journey has spent his entire professional career working for the YMCA, beginning 25 years ago in 1978. Before moving to Middle Tennessee in March of 2002, he served for 11 years as President and CEO of the YMCA of Greater Richmond.
Journey is a member of the Rotary Club, is past chair of the North American YMCA Development Organization, and is a member of the Disciples of Christ Church. He enjoys running marathons, coaching youth sports, reading, playing golf, and cheering for the Titans.
