The YMCA movement and its commitment to health and wellness is so strong, it even created the sports of basketball and volleyball, as well as YMCA methods for swim instruction that have become the standard in teaching people how to swim. However, fitness is just one part of a larger whole, not a separate activity of the YMCA's other programs and services. The YMCA has never focused on the body alone, because for over a century the Y has recognized that a person achieves total health when his/her spirit, mind and body are balanced.
We offer the following programs:
Microfit Fitness Assessments - 45 Minutes
Fitness Assessments are a great way to test your current fitness level. A Lifestyle assessment will help you identify areas where you may need improvement. You will receive a computerized printout with graphs, charts, and descriptions ranking your fitness level. Your wellness associate will also give you healthy nutritional suggestions for eating right. The following will be tested during your assessment: blood pressure, resting heart rate, weight, body fat %, cardiovascular endurance, flexibility, and upper body strength.Cost: FREE
Equipment Orientations - 30 Minutes
Based upon your individual goals, a wellness associate will acclimate you to different cardiovascular and strength training machines. The associate will also demonstrate proper form, body alignment, pace and suggested repetitions. If you have a question on a particular machine or group of machines, this may be the perfect thing for you.Cost: FREE
Weight Watchers Meetings
Attend a meeting for free to learn what it's all about. Check-ins start at 5:45pm and the meeting starts at 6:16pm.
