Team Formation
Players are grouped according to their age as of July 31, 2009. Each team will be permitted to place the head coach and assistant coach's child (total of two) on the roster. Teams will then be formulated based on the previous coach's evaluations on each player. Teams will be formed with the highest degree of fairness and equality in mind.
All YMCA Youth Sports programs emphasize the Y’s core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility while focusing on three key elements:
- Quality: From training for coaches to top-notch facilities and game management, the Y’s sports leagues are committed to providing a positive and quality experience for everyone.
- Skill development: An emphasis on teaching, adequate practice facilities and balanced competition foster an ideal environment for Youth Sports participants to learn and develop their athletic skills.
- Character building: By stressing teamwork and a zero-tolerance policy for those who fail to uphold the Y’s core values, our sports leagues help teach youth how to be both good sports and good citizens.

Volunteers are a vital part of YMCA youth sports. Parents and coaches provide the power of instruction, support and encouragement that build winning spirits in our youth. Volunteers and sponsors also provide the time and resources that help make our leagues successful. Each team will be permitted to place the head coach, assistant coach, and team sponsor's child on the roster. Here are a few ways you can be involved:- Team sponsorship is $300 per team and includes your name on printed materials, uniforms, etc.
