Fun Co. to Offer Free Care to Davidson Co. Flood Victims
May 10 The YMCA Fun Company program will offer its currently available spaces in Davidson County to children who were affected by the flood free of charge for the remainder of the school year.
YMCA of Middle Tennessee Vice President of School Age Services Lisa Beck says the organization hopes this will help affected parents who may be struggling to find care for their children as they begin picking up the pieces in the wake of last weekend's flood.
"We know so many families have been affected by this disaster, and hopefully this is one way we can help some of the youngest victims by providing them with a fun place to spend their before and after-school hours."
A full list of Fun Company sites in Davidson County can be found at www.ymcafunco.org and interested parents should contact Cynthia Gale at (615) 259-3418, ext. 72511 for information on enrolling their child.
This flood relief effort will serve eligible children in grades K-6. Available spots will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis until Davidson County sites reach their capacity. Children must be pre-registered to begin attending.
