Wellness
The YMCA movement and its commitment to health and wellness is so strong, it even created the sports of basketball and volleyball, as well as YMCA methods for swim instruction that have become the standard in teaching people how to swim. However, fitness is just one part of a larger whole, not a separate activity of the YMCA's other programs and services. The YMCA has never focused on the body alone, because for over a century the Y has recognized that a person achieves total health when his/her spirit, mind and body are balanced.
Aeriobic & Conditioning Classes
Try one of our many fitness classes included in your membership. We offer the traditional STEP classes as well as a DOUBLE STEP class using two benches. We offer a CIRCUIT class that alternates aerobics, STEP and toning exercises every three minutes. For those who enjoy strength work, we also have POWER LIFT classes. If you are looking for some quiet time, try one of our YOGA classes. If you would like something different, try out: Indoor Cycling, PILATES and Y-BOX. Please call the welcome center at 889-2632 to reserve your spot in indoor cycling 24 hours prior to class.
Strength Training Classes
Have you been wondering about strength training but were afraid to ask? Now is your chance! Let a certified instructor show you the correct way to increase muscular strength and endurance and provide you with basic fitness information. A stronger body will help make all those everyday tasks a little easier. Classes offered with seniors and women specifically in mind. Days and times indicated on the aerobics schedule. FREE to facility members.

Microfit®: The Amazing New Health & Wellness Tool
A great place to start! A free evaluation is a great motivational tool that provides a baseline of knowledge in developing your exercise objectives. Each individual receives a computerized printout with their results from the wellness profile. Included in the report are: height, weight, resting heart rate, blood pressure, body composition analysis using skin fold calipers, cardiovascular endurance, muscular strength and flexibility! DietMasterPro®: A revolutionary nutritional planning tool
Dietmaster will help you design a meal plan that will aid you in achieving all of your health and fitness goals. Spend a few minutes with a wellness coach inputing your daily activity levels and fitness goals and receive a customized print out that breaks down how many calories you need based on your goal AND provides a 3-day meal plan breakdown!

3N1 Fitness Program - FREE for Members!
Are you ready to take your first step towards a healthier lifestyle? Our exclusive 3-N-1 multi-phase fitness program is designed for you! Learn the fundamentals of fitness training and be guided one-on-one by a YMCA certified Wellness Coach. This unique program takes users through (3) 30-day phases with a customized workout plan so you can obtain your goals.
Personal Training
Personal Training can make a difference in the success of your program. This will provided you with the ultimate guide to accountability, guidance, discipline, and motivation. You will receive the latest information and the best exercises to maximize your workouts. You will receive a step by step personally developed program for your exact needs. Trainers ACSM, or NSCA certified, two of the most stringent and prestigious certifications in the industry. Trainers must be employed by the YMCA. Members may not provide their own trainers. Stop by the Welcome Center for information on sessions and fees.
Cardiokyds
Children ages 6 through 12 are invited to participate in instructor-led classes that get them moving! As part of a family membership, this program is free to our members, and is offered several times a week. Days and times vary, depending on school, but are posted throughout the facility. No advance registration is needed, just sign up in the lobby 5 minutes prior to class start!
Youth Strength Training
These classes enable our young members ages 10 through 13 the opportunity to learn safe and effective exercise principles, and have supervised practice on cardio and strength machines in the wellness center. This is the second option for wellness entry for young people in this age range. Once the young person successfully completes the class and passes a written and practical test, they are awarded a badge to be worn in the wellness center. This badge lets it be known that they are allowed to exercise in the wellness center. Classes are $25 and are scheduled on a frequent basis, and individual/private sessions ($50) are available for those that cannot attend the class dates. Registration for both classes and private sessions takes place at the welcome center.
Youth In Wellness
Our entire wellness center (cardiovascular equipment, selectorized weight machines, & free weights) is open to all members ages 14 and over. Equipment orientations are strongly encouraged for young people utilizing our equipment for the first time, as they are for adult members.
For youth ages 10 to 13 who would like to use the cardiovascular equipment and selectorized weight machines in the wellness center, 2 options are available.
- Youth ages 10 through 13 may work out WITH THEIR PARENT(S), or
- They may attend the Youth Strength Training class and obtain a badge to be worn when working out in the wellness center without their parent with them. See below for additional information about Youth Strength Training.
